PreK-5 Computer Science classes follow a guided curriculum that aligns collaborative student learning with state standards. As part of our STEM curriculum, students be introduced to Microsof Office, Google Classroom, Digital Citizenship, Code.org, and Scratch.
Computer Science classes for Grades 6-8 use Google Classroom for assignments that include working in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Draw. Students are also introduced to coding and video editing.
Library provides space for mindful learning. Information literacy, independent learning and social responsibility are promoted. We read short stories and chapter books, participate in book talks and search for good fit books utilizing skills previously taught to the students and instruction about the Dewey Decimal System.
During library, students are offered the opportunity to utilize technology for the completion of projects and web based academic support and enrichment.
The focus of our music program at St. Anthony is to help each student reach his or her full potential as a performer, creator, and consumer of music. We use these gifts to give praise and thanks to God.
The Pre-K through 3 general music classes use folk song and dance to learn the basics of singing, reading and creating music. Grades 4-8 build upon this foundation by exploring the relationships between music, culture and history.
Students also have many opportunities to practice their performance skills in band, the annual K-4th Grade Christmas Program, and a Jr. High musical.
The Physical Education Curriculum provides opportunities for students to learn health concepts and be active in PreK-8th Grade. Through the PE curriculum, students will develop an understanding of the importance of physical fitness, health, and well-being and the factors that contribute to them.
They will also develop basic movement skills required to participate in physical activities throughout their lives. Finally, they will learn healthy social behaviors that include sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
The goal of our Spanish classes is to provide a strong foundation in Spanish by teaching students conversational, reading, writing and grammatical skills with a strong Catholic influence. In addition to learning the language, our students also learn about the culture in Spanish speaking countries and their rich customs and traditions.
