4th & 5th Grade Language Arts & Social Studies Teacherklasseterstasb.orgHi my name is Ms. Katie Lasseter. I am a Catholic educator, and I was a member of St Pius X Parish for a number of years before moving to help family in Minnesota for a few years. I have now returned to Michiana and I teach 4th/5th grade Language Arts, Literature, and Social Studies.
I have an M.A. in English from IUSB. In the past years, I taught Composition at St Joseph High School and at Holy Cross College, where I also worked in Fundraising. I was also formerly a Kindergarten teacher at St. Therese Academy in Dallas, Texas and was a writer and consultant for a History textbook.
I enjoy spending time with my four adult children: my youngest son is 17. I love to travel to new places and have been to most of the 48 states. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or camping with my family. I also love to read, cook, engage in meaningful conversation, and watch movies.
Oh, and I have a huge and very bad Labradane, Nutmeg, who is my other baby -
she is the “best-bad” dog!
I would like to give the young people in my classes the instruction and attention that helps guide and form them in the ways that God intends: through wonder and knowledge of the world.
