A lot of people wonder why we have saints and why these people get recognized by the Church. Saints are people from all walks of life who managed to make their way through the ins and outs of the world with a particular closeness to the Lord. Some lived simple lives of kindess, prayer, and dedication to the Lord and show us what small acts of kindness can do for others (often miraculous things!). Some died as warriors or heroes for their faith, and we can turn to them when we need strength in tough situations.
We can turn to the saints in our joys and sorrows because they completely understand what it's like to navigate the world.
Be sure to go to Mass
The Solemnity of All Saints is a Holy Day of Obligation. That means that all Catholics should attend Mass to celebrate the solemnity. Masses will be at 5:30pm on 10/31 (vigil), 8:15am and 5:30pm on 11/1.
The 8:15am Mass on Friday will feature our 4th graders dressed up as saints to celebrate and venerate these Catholic super heroes.
Parents can earn points for their child's Student Houses! Come to Mass and drop this form in the collection basket. Coffee will be available for parents after Mass, so grab a cup to go or stay and visit.
