One of the many blessings of being a part of the St. Anthony community is the tremendous support for one another in the families I see and experience. Often this support is experienced in celebration, collaboration, or conversation. It is this support, and our trust in God, that keep us together in times of challenge.
Today I write to share difficult news and invite your prayers and support for our community.
Mrs. Chris Nowak, our beloved guidance counselor, learned Friday that her lung cancer is out of remission.
Please keep Chris, her husband, and her doctors in your prayers as they investigate the best treatment options.
Tuesday, October 4th, will be a $5 jean day for faculty, staff, and students who wish to participate to raise money for Cancer Research at Mayo Clinic.
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. If you would be interested in planning some awareness activities that help us all learn more about St. Peregrine, Mayo clinic, current research, important milestones in cancer treatment, etc - please let me know.
We believe God is in all things and we seek to reflect His joy and presence, even during hard times. May we continue to invite the Holy Spirit to strengthen us to be that light for one another and grant us the sight to see others as beacons when we ourselves are in need.
