Good News: October 31, 2019

Dear Panther Families, 

All Saints Day is tomorrow, November 1, and is a wonderful Solemnity in our Liturgical Year that celebrates the superheroes of the Church! Saints are the people who show us how to live a life oriented toward the Lord. Click for ideas on how you can celebrate All Saints Day with your family and teach your kids more about these incredible people!  

Please join us for an All Saints Day Mass tomorrow at 8:15am or 5:30pm to celebrate and venerate our Catholic superheroes, the Saints. Some specifics below:

Parents can earn points for student houses!
Parents, be sure to bring an All Saints Parent Form and drop it in the basket during the collection at either Mass on Friday, and you will earn points for your child’s house. Students can participate in the collection, too. They are welcome to bring small offering (such a few coins) if they’d like. No Mass envelopes necessary!  

Come and see our 4th Grade Saints
Each year our 4th graders dress as the saint to whom they have a special devotion. Come a little early to watch our saint procession in the church right before morning Mass. 

Spend Mass with your kids
You’re welcome to sit with your kids at the 8:15 Mass (or anytime!). It’s a beautiful opportunity to pray with and for them, and to pray together with the St. Anthony Community.

Grab a coffee on your way out
Fresh, hot coffee (and to go cups!) will be available for parents after the 8:15 Mass. Grab a cup on your way out or stay a while and visit. 

Adoration Club is starting up again!  The first session will be after school on Tuesday, November 12, from 3-4 pm.  Please see this  form for more information and to sign up.

On another note, I’d like to address our uniform code, specifically regarding pants.  Our uniform codes states, “Only khaki or black dress trousers or slacks are allowed.”  We have been seeing a trend in students wearing black and khaki jeans, jeggings, cotton knit, or stretch-type pants.  These are not considered dress trousers or slacks and should not be worn to school. Pants should be made of a Docker’s-type material (not denim or stretch material) and should not be form-fitting in style.  They should not hug the legs or ankles. They also should not have rivets, as jeans do.

Our weekend parish Mass times are 4:15pm on Saturday and 8:15am & 10:30am on Sunday.  We hope you join us for one of these Mass times! Please also consider joining us for 10:30 Mass on November 10th. The Marian High School Choir will be blessing us with their beautiful singing voices at that Mass.  We will host a reception for everyone after Mass to honor the choir in the FBE room with donuts, coffee, and cider.
