"As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight." ~Psalm 16:3
Dear Panther Families,
What a beautiful week. Our 4th graders had front and center seats dressed as saints at the Purcell Pavilion All Schools Mass yesterday with Bishop Rhoades. Please join us for Mass on 11/1 where our 4th grade saints will again be in their costumes. Our teachers are enjoying meeting with parents this week. Conferences are always a great time to connect and discuss the strengths and goals for students.
A note on uniforms as cool weather is setting in - students must have a uniform fleece or sweater. Students cannot wear non-uniform sweaters or sweatshirts in the classroom during the day. Please let us know if you need assistance ordering. Also, we have many fleece and other jackets that appear in our lost and found on a daily basis. Labeling the inside tag of jackets with a Sharpie is a great way to help us find the owners.
We need your help - students should not be on electronic devices while on campus for events - such as sports, dances, dinners, or events such as Trunk-or-Treat. We recognize devices are important communication tools between students and parents, but they should not be used for other purposes during events. Not all families are comfortable with pictures or videos being posted to different venues. For example, if a child takes a photo with friends and posts it - the family of the classmate may not be comfortable with it. Parents also should be mindful of sharing such photos on social media. We LOVE the pictures and enthusiasm about our community, however, we need to ensure we are not posting pictures or videos of children without the permission of the parents of all students. Parents, please share any photos and videos with us and allow us to post. Thank you for understanding.
HASA is asking for families to sign up to help at a Mass and represent HASA on the weekends of November 9/10 and December 14/15. This is a great way to get students involved in the Mass and spend some quality family time together! Families can sign up to help in the following areas:
Placing bulletins in the wood holders
Greeting Mass attendees
Collecting offerings
Presenting gifts at the altar
There is no school tomorrow in observance of a Fall Break Day. We hope all of our families enjoy the long weekend! We have two community family activities planned for this weekend and we invite you to join us.
The St. Anthony Trunk-or-Treat, sponsored by our School Advisory Council, will be held on Sunday in our school parking lot. Setup begins at 5:30, trunks open at 6:00pm for trick-or-treating and close at 7:00pm. Special guests, local firefighters and police officers, will hand out treats from their fire truck and cruisers. For planning purposes, please RSVP for Trunk-or-Treat to let us know if you will have a trunk display and/or if your children will be trick-or-treating on Sunday.
Our 2nd House Mass is at 10:30 this Sunday. We ask that those families attending bring an attendance slip filled out. These will be deposited in a drawing bucket on the table near the entrance doors to the church and will be used for prizes and attendance points for the House. Until our T-shirts arrive, we are encouraging (children and families) to wear their house color to Mass. Last year's T-shirt is fine as well. All students are invited to join the children's choir to sing from the loft. Warm up starts at 10:00am. We hope to see you Sunday at 10:30 for Mass, fellowship, and donuts!
