“"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
~ Ephisians 4:32
Dear Panther Families,
It was a glorious first week back after the Christmas break. Everyone seems to have renewed energy and enthusiasm as we jumped back into things! While students and teachers were busy in the classrooms, we have the new roof in progress as well as a new phone and communications system. This is both a safety and cost cutting measure. Once fully in place, all classrooms will have access to the PA system and be able to call 911 from the classrooms. We will also be saving money on our monthly utilities. We continue to look for ways to be efficient stewards and streamline our processes and procedures. It is great to see the goals being achieved for the safety and well-being of the school.
Next Friday is the end of quarter 2. Please ensure your child has all of their homework caught up and turned in. Report cards will be coming home on Thursday the 21st. We will continue with the option for Virtual Learning for Pre-K through Grade 8 for Quarter 3. Please indicate your learning option preference for quarter 3 by Friday, January 15 using this link.
Calendar changes - We have updated our calendar to extend the 1:00 Friday dismissal through the end of the school year. Please click here for a printable calendar.
Next week, we will be kicking off a new service project called “Food not Bombs”(FnB). FnB is a local group that aims to work with the community to best feed those affected by homelessness, natural disaster, and those in food scarcity. The program collects personal care items such as unused hotel and sample size shampoos, soap bars, tooth paste, conditioner, body wash, etc. to be distributed to people living on the street. They are looking for excess school lunch type things that do not need refrigeration and are sealed, such as waffle crackers, juice boxes, individual cereals, pop tarts, etc. Donations may be sent to the school office any time between now and February 1st.
From our Virtues=Strength program:
Our virtue this week is Respect: The strength to show kindness toward others, recognizing their talents. This week, we focused on practicing the virtue of respect by speaking kindly of others and focusing on positives while resisting the temptation to dwell on negatives.
Monday, January 18th, is Martin Luther King. Jr. Day. There will be no school, but we hope to see everyone at Mass on Saturday/Sunday or watching on YouTube. Mass times are 4:15pm Saturday and on Sunday at 8:15am and 10:30am.
Sincerely,
Karen Bogol
