“But test everything; hold fast to what is good.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Dear Panther Families,
We begin ILEARN assessments on Monday. Parents can be a big help in this process by keeping student absences to a minimum for the next two weeks to avoid test makeup, and ensuring students are well rested and have a good breakfast daily.
Mrs. Szymczak and Mrs. Faus returned this week from their medical leave. It has been great to have them back in the school and teaching our students.
We have been receiving questions regarding our calendar for next school year. The calendar is delayed this year because we are still awaiting the diocese calendar. They are working out some professional development days for next year. We anticipate receiving this next week and will update parents as soon as possible.
Saturday, April 23, we will be hosting our annual Spring Grounds Clean-Up event. We would love to provide a pizza lunch to families who show up to help! Bring your rakes, shovels, hedge trimmers and wheelbarrows to help us spread mulch, weed flower beds, spray weed-killer along the fenceline, trim bushes, and plant bulbs beneath the Crucifix out front. Students who show up with parent supervision to help will receive a dress-down pass.
Tickets are on sale for Shrek, Jr.! Come out to the St. Anthony gym and support our students from Thursday April 21-Saturday April 23. Tickets are $5/person, and children 2 years old and under get in free. Check out the spring musical webpage for complete details and to download the flyer. Parents may also purchase tickets through their FACTS account, by emailing Business Manager Nancy Sacha at [email protected]. Let Nancy know you'd like tickets for the show charged to your FACTS account, and the total cost to charge.
There will be no school tomorrow in observance of Good Friday. I’m looking forward to seeing our students and families at Mass for Easter services – tonight at 7pm for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, and Saturday at 9pm for the Easter Vigil Mass, or Sunday morning at 8:15am or 10:30am for the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord .
You are invited during Holy Week to walk with Jesus on a pilgrimage in the Sunnymede neighborhood. Fourteen Sunnymede families (including several St. A's parishioners) are each hosting a station of the cross. The route is just under one mile long and begins at 1420 Sunnymede in South Bend. Stations are available through Saturday afternoon. Lori Divita, who is a member of the parish and school, is coordinating it!
