Good News February 27, 2020

Dear Panther Families, 

Yesterday, Ash Wednesday, officially began our Lenten season.  Our parish Liturgy group recently sent an email to families with inspirational ideas for families.  Please see our Lent Event Calendar with a full list of activities and events for this important season in our liturgical year.  The calendar also has special activities for the kids. More Lent resources are available on our website, including prayers, blessings, kid crafts, activities, digital retreats, meditations, and more.  

Our next in-school House Retreat Day is Wednesday, March 4.  The our theme for the retreat is Humility and Father Nate Wills, CSC, PHD, from Notre Dame will be giving the Faith Formation talk.  Houses will be making buttons for our brothers and sisters at Logan Center or fleece blankets for Women's Care Center as their service project.  We will have Mass and Adoration as well. Parents are more than welcome to join us for Mass at 8:15 and then tag along with their child's house.  

Our 6th graders have been studying Greek Mythology and have each adopted a Greek god.  Today, during a “banquet of the gods”, students presented information for classmates to guess which god they are.  The banquet consisted of nectar, bread, feta cheese (from Oh Mammas), Greek olives, ambrosia salad, and dried figs.  See our online photo album for banquet photos.

Report cards for T2 will be sent home tomorrow.  Please check your child’s backpack for these. The honor roll list will be published on our website on Monday.

I wanted to pass on some additional calendar reminders to families.  Next Monday is our group/club photo day. Friday, March 6 is a Curriculum Day for teachers - no school for students.  Monday, March 9 is an early release day - students released at 1:45pm.
