As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience. - Collossians 3:12
Dear Panther Families,
Our reflections this week focused on listening for God’s call and saying yes to His invitations and messages. This morning’s reading reminded us to reflect God’s love by “clothing” ourselves in virtuous behaviors. This was especially timely as it was picture day, and students wore outfits reflecting their personal tastes and style. It was fun to see everyone dressed up.
I am asking for your help with a few things that impact our community.
Morning Drop Off and Afternoon Pick Up
We cannot have cars parked in the drop off lanes in the morning waiting for the 7:40 bell. As this begins to happen, the line starts to occur earlier and earlier and creates a problem for parents who have paid to use morning care or who need to drop and go. If you arrive prior to 7:40 and do not want your child waiting unattended, you will need to park in the lot, circle around, or register for morning care. Thank you for adhering to this procedure as it ensures all families have a smooth and safe drop off experience.
Please ensure that pants are not too tight. Conversations about the fit of clothes can be uncomfortable for students, but we ask that you make sure the pants they wear to school are trousers or slacks and not be tight fitting. Some pants marketed as “uniform” can be misleading. Many of these contain form fitting materials that lend themselves to a tight, legging-like fit and are not acceptable uniform items. This is true of jeans on out-of-uniform days as well. Every effort is made to ensure our school’s uniform policy is reasonable and manageable.
We believe all backordered items from SIA are now in–thank you for your patience.
Please take a moment to review the eligibility policy for athletics. Be sure to reach out with any questions. We will begin checking for eligibility next Tuesday.
There is no school or on-site childcare next Friday, as our faculty will be at the diocesan Catholic School Mission Day.
Finally, please mark your calendars for the evening of September 26 at 6pm. We will have a guest speaker from the Indiana Youth Educator Cyber Safety team to present to parents about internet and digital media safety.
Our weekend parish Mass times are 4:15pm on Saturday and 8:15am & 10:30am on Sunday. Please join us to celebrate Mass this weekend.
