If a child will be absent from school, parents should report the absence no later than 8:45am. This form complies with Indiana law, which states that excused absences can only be marked as excused if the nature of the absence is reported in writing. You can review the full attendance policy located in the Student Handbook.
If you arrive to school after 8:05 am, please ring the doorbell at the main entrance, and a staff member will assist you.
Just ONE symptom from the list of common signs/symptoms of COVID-19 warrants further evaluation and conversation. If a student or staff member has a fever, for any reason, the Indiana Health Department requires staff and students to remain home for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms AND be fever free without the use of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours AND with improved symptoms.
Additionally, all staff and students with fevers or symptoms associated with COVID-19 are encouraged to seek medical attention for further evaluation and instructions. If a student has tested negative for COVID-19 or is diagnosed with another condition that explains the symptoms, then no quarantine is necessary, but a provider's note with alternate diagnosis will be needed to return to school. If a student has symptoms of COVID-19 and tests positive or does NOT get tested for COVID-19, then siblings and household members should be considered close contacts and quarantine for 10 days.
